1. Purpose

The From Zero to Hero Python Mentorship Program is dedicated to providing a harassment-free and inclusive learning experience for all participants, mentors, volunteers, and staff, regardless of age, gender, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, or technical ability.

We value a supportive, respectful, and professional environment where everyone can learn, grow, and thrive.

2. Expected Behavior

All members of our community are expected to:

  • Be respectful, kind, and inclusive in all interactions.
  • Use welcoming and professional language.
  • Be receptive to constructive feedback.
  • Focus on what is best for the community and the program.
  • Show empathy towards other participants.
  • Take responsibility for their words and actions.

3. Unacceptable Behavior

The following behaviors are strictly prohibited:

  • Harassment, bullying, discrimination, or intimidation.
  • Sexual language, imagery, or unwanted advances.
  • Offensive or derogatory comments related to race, gender, religion, or identity.
  • Deliberate intimidation, stalking, or following.
  • Publishing others’ private information without permission.
  • Disruptive behavior during classes or community spaces.
  • Any form of abuse of power (especially between mentors and mentees).

4. Scope

This Code of Conduct applies to all program spaces, including:

  • Google Meet classes and events
  • WhatsApp communities and other chat platforms
  • Email communications
  • LinkedIn group and social media channels
  • Any in-person events or labs (when introduced)

5. Reporting Incidents

If you experience or witness unacceptable behavior, we encourage you to report it immediately. All reports will be handled with confidentiality and respect.

We will investigate every report promptly and fairly. Retaliation against anyone who reports in good faith is strictly prohibited.

6. Consequences

Anyone who violates this Code of Conduct may face consequences, including:

  • A private warning
  • Temporary removal from classes or community spaces
  • Permanent expulsion from the program
  • In serious cases, involvement of relevant authorities

By participating in the From Zero to Hero Python Mentorship Program, you agree to abide by this Code of Conduct. We reserve the right to update it as needed to maintain a safe and inclusive environment.
